Meditoxin is Medytox's original botulinum toxin type A and the product that established the company as Korea's first domestic manufacturer in the category. It has been in clinical use for two decades, which is the main argument for it: a long record and a large body of practitioner familiarity rather than a novel formulation.
The 200-unit vial is the volume presentation. It suits clinics running full lists of upper-face work and the treatments that consume units quickly — masseter reduction, calf slimming, trapezius contouring. Where a 100-unit vial would mean opening a second box mid-session, this one usually does not, and the cost per unit is lower.
Meditoxin is a conventional lyophilised preparation, reconstituted with sterile saline before use. Medytox also makes Coretox, which strips out albumin and animal-derived protein, and Innotox, which removes the reconstitution step entirely — so a clinic already committed to the manufacturer has three distinct formats to choose between.
Why practitioners choose Meditoxin 200U
A long clinical record
Two decades of use across Korea and export markets. For a clinic standardising on one toxin, that history often matters more than any individual specification.
Predictable onset
Most patients see movement reduction from around day two, with the effect settling over the following week to ten days.
Targeted action
Used at appropriate doses it relaxes the injected muscle without materially affecting neighbouring tissue — the reason it remains a default for glabellar and forehead work.
Cost per unit
At 200 units per vial, Meditoxin is one of the more economical ways to buy a long-established Korean toxin.
What it is used for
Glabellar lines are the classic indication, alongside horizontal forehead lines and lateral canthal lines. Masseter reduction for lower-face contouring and calf or shoulder work account for much of the remaining volume in Korean practice.
Therapeutic applications include blepharospasm and spasticity-related muscle conditions. Which indications are approved depends on the market you work in, and treatment should sit within your own scope of practice.
Composition
The active ingredient is Clostridium botulinum toxin type A at 200 units per vial, stabilised conventionally for a lyophilised preparation. It acts by blocking acetylcholine release at the neuromuscular junction, producing temporary and reversible relaxation of the treated muscle.

Handling
Inspect the vial before use — the seal intact, the cake white to slightly off-white. Reconstitute with sterile 0.9% sodium chloride, introducing the diluent gently down the side of the vial rather than shaking, since the active is a protein and mechanical stress degrades it. Diluent volumes and per-site dosing follow Medytox's prescribing information.
Use reconstituted solution promptly and keep it refrigerated in the meantime. Results typically last three to six months, varying with dose, treated area, muscle bulk and individual metabolism.
A prescription product for administration by trained, licensed practitioners only. Contraindicated in pregnancy and breastfeeding, in known hypersensitivity to any component, where infection is present at the intended injection site, and in neuromuscular disorders such as myasthenia gravis.
